The most part of daylilies from my collection are old varieties. I hope - not for the long time. Every year I get new varieties; this summer I started crossing daylilies too.

Lovely photo's of the varieties you have there.:gnthb: I have a few in my garden and up until last year they were fine but then I noticed that some of the flower buds would not open and on inspection found a tiny maggot inside that ruins the flowers and when I put a couple of the maggots on a piece of paper they started jumping all over the place until I squished them.:(

I Googled for the problem and it looks like a problem that day lilies suffer from.I took off all the flowers and destroyed them and are just hoping it doesn't come back next year or else I will have to throw the whole lot away or try to spray them, something I don't really want to do.

Thanks for sharing yours with us:)

    Kandyfloss,
of course, You must spray Your daylilies from the thripses!
We have "ACTARA" - it's very fine for that.
If I don't spray, I should never see the blooming of glads and daylilies. If You will do it one-two time from the early spring, You may without problems eat buds of daylilies, when it blooms.

:gnthb: Hi Vivasvat you have some beauties there, some of them I am not familiar with... I shall have to have a look about as I want some new bulbs..! I get a really good showing o mine if I feed well & use a systemic spray for Lily Beetle thrips etc... I don't like chemicals but sometimes I have to if I want the blooms..!!
They are a really beautiful bloom & worth it as your pics display Vvivastat...!!:thumb:

    :gnthb: Thanks for sharing..:gnthb:
