Since our various museum visits over the holidays (still need to finish the review threads!), I have been wondering about something that I have spotted a few times and it came up again today in a YouTube video so I pinched a screengrab.

Looking at the top of the plane in the image, there is a wire that seems to run from teh cockpit to the front of the plane, then back to the back - what is it for? I initially thought it must be to do with the rudder, but couldn't work out how it would articulate both direction if it was?

Control wires would all be internal in that kind of plane I would think.

Yep, it's a radio aerial of the wire that gave a broader band, but fairly quickly gave way to the fixed aerial.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
