FAO Strongyloden. As requested ... the following four pictures are of the two Oleanders, (the two are the same as one is an offshoot of the other!) which are not at their best at the moment, sadly! :(

... under the shade of a Jacaranda ...

You know, I have one very similar to that, but mine dont flower nearly as well, that looks really happy under that blue, blue sky.
It rained a bit here today. :D

That's a beautiful flower LoL. I have one double, an apricot/peachy sort of colour but it is struggling to flower unlike the singles. [IMG]

Thanks, Pete and Strongy. I actually think they look a weeny bit sad at the moment. The first pic, under the Jacaranda, guess you figured that's a Bougie draping down in front and immediately in front of that is a Bela Luisa ... sorry, Lemon Verbena which I'm training into a standard.

The plan is (there's always a plan!) that water will burble down from the small olive pot (recycling system of course) which is nice because this is in front of the guest bedroom window! [IMG]

My cousin from Bedfordshire just rang earlier and said it's bucketing down there and very much needed. :D Sadly, I'll heave-ho a few watering cans around tonight where the irrigation doesn't get. Can't have it all I guess ... lovely blue skies and rain!

    They are great.

I Have a variegated one with single pink flowers. Every year it is smothered with buds but only a few open. This year has been the best ever, but even so they can't compare with those in hotter regions.

I have a cream one I bought last year that isn't looking too happy. It may take a bit of time to acclimatise to the English winters and cool summers.

Rich, that may be the same one as I bought last year called vanilla cream, it has loads of buds but is shy in opening. I haven't anywhere sheltered and sunny to plant them outdoors so they have to remain in pots. I have six young plants at work from the seed pod from the pink one (pic posted a couple of months ago. There are a few Oleanders planted in the central road reservation down by the harbourside here. Although they are only the pale-pink single flowered types, they are putting on quite a show (for the UK that is). I'll try and get a pic while I'm on my way to the office tomorrow.

Could be the same as the one I have, it has flowered well, I was surprised to see my one set seed last autumn, though the pod didn't open till feb. I have a white single which I liberated (as a cutting) from a plant outside at Exeter Uni, this is also flowering well. [IMG]

That is superb Strongy- love the colour. The pure whites such as 'Soeur Agnes' are a bit too glaring, this is easier much easier on the eye.

Funny, isn't it, I'm not so fond of the cream / white ones ... perhaps because there's so many white walls here! Yours looks lovely and healthy, Strongy, but then one would expect that from you! :D The buds are very pretty, tinged pink!

It is next to the white, if only it flowered as well. I think that is the difference here, the singles do better in our climate. [IMG]
