Daisy bush , as soon as its finished flowering and not before or you will cut all the buds off ,so about middle of May but this all depends where you live

    Ta.
Also need info on Olearia phlogopappa 'Comber's Blue'
Mine is very leggy now and I wondered if I could encourage more basal growth by pruning, or is it one of those which does not shoot from old wood?

Hard pruned in April its the only month you can and they do have a tendency to go leggy , but will need a good rose fertiliser after its pruned and a mulch , if you have 3 or 4 branches I would would just cut two if its a young plant but if older the whole lot would be removed.

My Olearia must be over 60 years old. It was about 20ft tall with all growth at the top and looked awful! Took the plunge and attacked it in April with a chainsaw, pruning down to about 3ft. I'd have been all day if I had used a pruning saw as the branches are thick. Gave it loads of manure after pruning and the results are quite good. It has really sprouted well from the old rock hard wood. Certainly if you prune in March/April you should get good results. 002.JPG
