    Hi,

I have noticed a few olive trees on sale lately.

The foliage is attractive on it's own, but do they actually produce olives or is our climate nowhere near hot enough?

    Thanks!

I was quite interested to find out about olive trees myself.
I have spoken to Bridgemere garden centre who sell them as a pottet plant. You need a very dry frost free area.Maybe in a pot even in a greenhouse or conservatory. If you have a sheltered spot by the south coast you have more chance you will be lucky if they produce olives though.
Bridgemere say they are grown for their bark and foliage. She couldn't tell me what size the plants were or how much.I will go and call and investigate.I was told they will be with the cacti plants. With the climate changing who knows we could be eating home grown olives in the future.
