I'm an unashamed fan of young Tom Daley, the Diver.
He's on at 3pm this afternoon and I've had butterflies in my tum for him all morning. I shall smile from the moment I see him enter the pool and I'll be smiling from ear to ear if he and Peter Waterfield pull it off this afternoon.:dancy:

Valiant effort but not good enough- 4th place with the Chinese excelling as always. One dive went wrong and that's was enough to put them outside the medals. Mexico surprised everyone . The "dark horses" came 2nd with such a consistent programme.
I'm still smiling though as they beat many of the world's best.
    Well done Tom and Peter,
    Jenny

If I get to see them on TV, then looking at some of the cross country horse jumps that I had a part in the making of should make me smile.

I've got to be honest, over the last couple of days, its not so much the athletes that have made me smile, but the efforts of some of the support staff; The Met Police have been in brilliant humour with the crowds (especially the motorcycle guys), and the Olympics staff wearing the 2012 uniforms (purpley tops and brown trousers) along the cycle race routes have been equally good with all the visitors.

Sadly, the same cannot be said of the muppets that were responsible for controlling the road closures - they properly let the side down - however, that is another story altogether.

The British men getting the team Bronze in the gymnastics (so nearly silver)

The 'BBC Presenter's List of Things to say when the British don't win', including such gems as, 'Fourth is the hardest place to finish'; 'So, so close'; and my personal favourite .... 'You must be disappointed?' to which, I'm still waiting for the reply 'No actually, I came here to lose'

Me to, and also grateful that alien flying saucers haven't been attacking the London stadium. Please PM me if they appear and perhaps I'll start watching things again.

GB womens football team were outstanding this evening against Brasil.. no matter what you say about womens football, I would go as far to say some of the quality tonight was as good as I've seen when England men play.
