Surfing the old w.w.w as you do.
Found myself looking at this site.

    http://www.joyfultomato.com/index2.html?gclid=CK2M0ZeAu5QCFRqH1Qod1R2LSg

    True false or a scam?
I was attracted to the one arm farmer and ended up reading the whole article awaiting the punch line.
Its there, at the end of the article.....
I see there has been some talk on the forum re shedding a few leaves from our tomato plants, but this sounds extreme.
Anyone ever tried this severe form of pruning? as mentioned in this article.

Surfing Utube video and came up with this as a response to my previous post.

Do watch the video and then read the comments below.....
Looks like all this talk of shedding leaves is indeed a no no for our beloved tomatoes.

Just read the Joyful Tomato article and nearly split in two laughing.

    What a complete joke.

    Here's an excerpt from it.

    """""""""""So What Kills Your Tomatoes?

The real problem is right at this time. Most people grow their tomato plants incorrectly up until this stage...

    The result?

    1. The plant is unable to drink as much water as it needs to give you the best harvest. (The leaves and leaf branches hog a lot of the energy)

    2. It's chocking to death, and cannot get enough Carbon, which is in the air. """"""""""""""""""""""""""

For a start look how he's spells Choking.

If what he's saying is true and cutting all the leaves off will let the plant absorb more carbon (C02) I presume then I've just come up with a solution to global warming.

Chop every tree in the world's branches and leaves off and voila !! problem solved.

This method is to an extent uesd comercially but not to the level of leaving just three leaves.

I agree, commercially they remove leaves once the fruit are set and large to reduce shading to promote ripening but this half wit seems to suggest denuding the plant early before you even have any toms..

So presumabley you could grow them in the dark from there on as photosynthesis doesn't seem to fit in with his plan.?

The fact that he is selling info for $19.99 and he is a Yank tells you all you need to know !

    Caveat Emptor.
