Where's that *falls off the chair laughing* smiley when we need it.

    As promised - Before -

    ...and *that* cordy. :D

So this is what we'll be working with. So far I've planted up the wee raised bed in the corner with bulbs, as a temporary measure until we have the finances to do anything else.

Sadly the beech trees at the bottom of the garden have to come down. :( There's one a couple of gardens along that has died, and in the summer a huge branch randomly fell off our tree into our garden so we got a couple of folk out to look at them. They agreed ours are dying and becoming dangerous given their close proximity to the houses.

The dookit next to the shed is filled with beach pebbles though you can't really see them under the leaves. DH has been out weekly with the leaf "hoover" but still they come.

Raven don't be so hard on yourself you have a wonderful blank canvas there it could be far worst such as a huge jungle waste land and by jungle I don't mean like Banana Man's!

As you have shown little bits do add up and not all of us can afford the time nor have the pennies to do everything all at once, far much better to have a plan and slowly work to it at least that way you might not make many mistakes.

    One suggestion if I may?

Have you thought about tying up your cordy i.e.wrapping something round it to keep the frost from the centre?

Could be worth a try with you being up there in chilly Scotland.

I'ave done mine already as the local council has done theirs.
