    How lovely Dalbuie .

I have made a Christmas cake for the first time I may add and the fruit is even and has not sunk.

But cheated bought the roll out marzipan and icing.

When should I put th emarizpan and icing on.

Its a family recipe passed down through the generation and have to say this Scottish recipe has no alchol at all.

Your looks so inviting with the sweeties.

Scotkat, you can put the marzipan and icing on any time now. A scottish christmas cake with NO alcohol well!. The icing I used is fondant icing easier to mold and shape. [IMG]

That is very imaginative dalbuie...sure beats the piping problems ;) Don't think we have had a Christmas cake for years now..not since Mrs Pal messed up and we ate it for pudding instead! :D

    Dalbuie, it looks fabulous!

Scotcat, I am also at my first experiences with cakes. And amazingly, they grow (never happened before!). I have a big book of English recipies and I have started making this "cider cake" which gives me great results.
Now at every opportunity I give a cider cake as a present as I am so proud of them!

believe it or not LoL, I am not that experienced cook for Italian standard. For somebody's standard I may be an excellent cook. Nevertheless I certainly want to improve on that and as i said I am starting with this cider cake.
Although if you need any Italian recipies as you can imagine there are endless recipies that I can translate for you.
