It all started when I was younger. I was always interested in astronomy, especially Astrophotography, which led to the buying of a DSLR, and various CCD bits and bobs. Although I don't get much time (with twins and nightshift - and the fact this is a hobby that can easily cost well over £100k) I do manage to do some imaging. Im still learning, and once I get a perfectly flat area in the garden for the mount it will be easier lol

But the weather here in Scotland can be depressing to say the least - and in the summer months, the doesn't really get properly dark, so I found myself going out for walks in the country, camera charged and ready to go. This gave me a love for the natural world in my rural surroundings.
I think these are Golder Hoverflies which are an endangered species in the UK, 'shot' in my garden feeding on thistles:

See what happened when my love of astronomy needed a camera... :happydance:

Thanks Ziggy - didnt know about that one, the one I've used in the past only has a static path on the map..
Yes, I often go out with the twinnies - although I do admit it is a bit tricky squeezing a double pram through kissing gates :heehee:
There's lots of wee country roads all around me, so I usually just go wandering, fresh air for the babes, and exercise for 'Auld Faither' - as long as there's no idiot drivers and tractors with those huge big double wheels then we're safe :)
