I am growing some Centurion onions from sets , and the majority seem to be doing very well. But the stalks are still 90% green , I was picking Sturon onions last year about now. When can I expect to pick these ? I planted them out in the first half of April.

    TIA

    Hiya Harry.

I would imagine a few more weeks yet? Best imo to wait until the leaves have pretty much lost all their 'green'. I believe they can also be induced by folding the leaves over, but plenty of time yet.
    Hope this helps...

P.S. You can always pull them as you need them:blue thumb:

Wait for the stems to drop of their own accord Harry.

Wait until they flop Harry. As a result of the late Spring lots of veg are a bit behind this year.

Mine are all flopped over now, I pulled them up yesterday and laid them on the soil to dry out and harden up for storage. In a week I'll lay them on some netting so the air can get round them.
