I have some onions (planted from seed). They are now thin and pretty long (one single "stalk(?)"). Some are drooping but still green, others are straight.

    1) Is drooping ok or are they supposed to be straight? If they're not supposed to droop, have I watered them too much or is it something else?
    2) Can I eat the stalk/ leaf like chives? I have loads of seedlings.
    3) Do I need to give them a haircut or are they fine? :D If so, how short do they need to be cut to?
    4) Preferebly I'd like some to grow to be bigger onions and some to be diddy so I can pickle some. I am growing the same type of onion. Can I do this? If so, how much space do they need for a bigger onion, and for a diddy onion?

If you can answer any of the questions I would be grateful.

drooping leaves on onions isnt a problem. you can however support the bigger leaves of an onion plant. just make sure you dont over water. if the compost sticks to your boots, its to watery.
Most types of onion that are suitable for the pickle jar are also good to use as salad onions in salads.
If there is no room for a pickling onion sowing, small onion bulbs suitable for the purpose can be selected from the main onion crop when it is lifted.
