    Hi all.

Well not to far away to plant onion sets i only have small area of garden where i can actually plant and this is kept for kidney beans.

Last yesr i planted onion sets plastic containers had around 100 very nice onions.

my first question today is i have lots of plastic containers approx 30 x 18 x 5 plenty of drainage holes in them do you think 5 inches is deep enough to plant onion sets.

My second question what do you think the best sets are to buy does anyone grow Hercules and Setton sets not trie them before ???.

I don`t think you will have too much of a problem depthwise, golfer. I`ve always grown Sturon, I find it a tasty, reliable variety.
