Onion setts 10p/net at Wilkos

    Saw the onion setts were down to 10p/nett at Wilkos today, so bought some to plant very close together for 'spring onions' as I did last year, and those that weren't used grew to just the right size to use whole in the veg roasting tin.

    Here's some I did that with last year:

    What size were the bulbs on these Scrungee? They look very succulent and I can almost taste them

    The ones that didn't get eaten small as spring onions (as there were about 900 of them) got to around pickling onion size (and some did get pickled). Reckon I've got approx 500 setts for my 50p this year.

      No one can stretch 50p further than you Scrungee. Still reckon you ought to apply for the Chancellor of the Exchequer's job,
