Onion tops white blotches?

    :scratch: My onions seemed fine the other day when I was weeding around them but this morning I noticed light white blotches on all of the tops, it's my first year growing onions so I'm not sure what's normal. Any ideas?

    Are the tops starting to swell in size as well? I'm wondering if it's seed heads starting to form. My previous year's onions I left in over-winter have all formed seed heads (so called 'bolting') Once they do that the put all their energy into flowering and don't produce as good a bulb.
