onions

    I live in lowestoft, most easterly and at the moment coldest point in uk. i have my Duke of york chitting up nicely, also bought my onion sets Sturon/ red onion / shallots / and garlic.
    I want to be getting them in but tonight the nasty weather man gives out a wind chill of 17 below, heavy snow tomorrow and much the same all week really frusting, how long should i wait?

    Micky V, It all seem a bit early to me, As far as I'm concerned its not worth planting anything until the soil warms up.
    That could be late March early April the way things are going, at best.

    I agree with Pete, Micky, wait until the ground has warmed up. The first rule of gardening is be patient.:gnthb:
