Planting my seed trays, I decided I would add some sharp sand to them all, so I made a good 50/50 mix and then planted all my seeds

Three weeks on and no sign of anything ?
Then this afternoon a flash of inspiration came to me
"Jack" you know that sharp sand was a bit gritty, er yes it was, Then the penny dropped
Remember in January when you liberated that half hundredweight of ROAD ROCK SALT for your drive , err yes Ooops

Seeds and seedlings do not like to grow in SALT :-( :cry3:

Tried to grow, beans, peas, sweet-peas, various tomatoes, cucumber, petunias, strawberries, carrots, cauliflower, various cabbage Oh all sorts

I am going to be OK though, I had a trip to the local allotments, and a good few of the people have spares they are willing to pass on
I do not have a big garden so we are talking in tens of each not hundreds

So stupid a mistake to make, must go to spec savers
