Thanks HB - most sites seem to be charging that sort of price plus delivery, so it seems like a decent deal!

    Hi Dave,
I bought this greenhouse last year. I'm having great fun growing toms, cu's, peppers, peas, carrots, melons etc.
    Go for it! [IMG]

I find my greenhouse is my retreat...... I escape out there with a mug of tea when there's too much boy stuff going on in the house - its even better now the shading is up, I can perch on a pot with a magazine without being seen!!!!! [IMG]

    Hi all,

Thanks for the reassurance Gloria, I am getting it delivered on Tuesday. Have got some cucumber and tomatoes out on the patio, but hopefully they will fare better in the greenhouse!

HB - I'm guessing that Mrs Dave will have to shove ME out of the house when there is too much boy stuff going on. I'll have to get a mini beer fridge for when I am banished! ;)

I bought a greenhouse last summer from B&Q 6ftx6ft aluminium they had 20% off it only cost me Ã?£130. Even put it together my self, only help I got was sorting out the sliding door! [IMG]

Hi Dave, like Tropical, I would have gone to the likes of B and Q or the local garden centre. I think you`ve paid over the odds. That`s money that could have gone on staging and the likes. David.

I'm a bit out of touch with greenhouse prices, but they do vary quite a lot, especially in aliminium section thicknesses.
I not sure I would buy one off e bay, but I do believe that 'you only get what you pay for'.
So if it sounds a bit cheap then its probably not that strong.
But thats just my oppinion. :D

Well, the delivery was fine, but as to whether it is a good greenhouse, I couldn't comment yet. We had nothing but rain since it was delivered, but it should be going up this week. Looks good so far, sat in its boxes! :D

We paid a bit more for our greenhouse. One reason (the main one)was because we got a much higher apex - it is nearly 7ft high - and as hubby is well over 6ft, he has no excuse not to help out in there any more and doesn't have to duck as he goes through the door!!!! We also got a green one, as after a year or two, the aluminium dulls and the greenhouse isn't hidden from view. The door is 10 times better - there is draught proofing for winter, much easier to slide, etc, and generally it is much better quality. When we priced up the various options, we could have gone much cheaper, but this was worth every penny, and by the time you added safety glass, green colour, etc to B&Q's ones, there was very little in price difference, just the quality (and higher roof)!!

Yes I would say you've summed up my feelings very well there Honey Bee. I am pleased (so far, whilst in boxes) with what I have bought, and an investment for the garden is what I hope it will be! :D
