Here are some photos of my drive. I know that it is a personal thing in the end but do you think that the drive looks messy and that the grass needs eradicating? Or do you think that it adds character and is in keeping with its location? The bank on the left hand side of the front drive we are planning, over time, to make into a more traditional cornish hedge. Next question, if I was to get rid of the grass what would be the best way

Hi Celia, to me it looks lovely and natural just as it is.
It seems that there is some shade from trees, so you are likely to get build up of mosses, leaves and the rest, so to try and keep it perfect may be a problem.

    That's my vote anyway [IMG]

Hi Celia, I agree, it looks rustic and makes the drive blend in with in with the garden. I love Cornwall and I think the Cornish hedge is a brilliant invention. David.

Think I would like to get rid of the grass growing in the driveway, I know it looks a bit rustic and blends in well, but a driveway is a driveway.
    Whats a cornish hedge Celia?
A dry stone wall covered in greenery I presume. :D [IMG]

Hi Celia if you are unhappy with the grass part of your drive then get rid of it after all it's your garden and it is you that has to see it every day.

Hi Celia personaly I like it the way it is! [IMG]
I know its a drive way, block pave: would cost a fortune and still you get moss growing in between. Gravel: and you get your paintwork chipped, tarmack is just so boring. :(
I vote stick with what you have its not that the grass is growing in sod like form.
    Pritty and picturess! [IMG]

Hi Celia. In the first one it looks good and natural. But in the second one it looks bit rustic. Grass are of no use in the drive-way. Have a look at this site. Hope it will work for you.

Looks to me like it could be a bit of a pain to mow I would replace it with a selection of low growing shrubs.

If you are talking about the lawn to the right of the driveway, I think you should keep it. If you are talking about the moss and grass in the driveway, I think it would make the rest of the garden look much better if you cleaned it out.

Good luck in whatever you decide [IMG]

Thanks for all your comments, basically I'm feeling a little lazy and didn't fancy digging/scr a ping all the grass out, but if you think it looks fine then its fine with me :D :D
You're right about the cornish hedge Pete, it's two drystone walls filled with earth between and left for nature to take over.
