isnt it sweet

 

Aaah the white egret orchid, stunning,never grown it but know longk who's a member on here has,plus lots of other stunning orchids

 

I did, and it came back last year too! However, I came home from work one day and all four shoots were gone, totally disappeared! So, my tip is keep them protected from bird attack!

 

can you grow them outdoors then Longk? i thought they were like other orchids grow indoors, thanks for posting that beautiful picture
i am very tempted to buy one, they are like little white birds

 

i never knew you liked Daylilys Simbad i only knew Spruce did, i just bought another today "betty davies" and i have ordered "Blueberry Cream" i hope it dont turn into an obssesion

 

Oh dear sounds like the obsessions setting in already Resonate , yes I love my daylilies, grow them in a huge bed in the middle of the garden, its great because you can keep extending , less grass to cut so hubby doesn't moan,just placed my order with Pollies have you seen her website? she's a member on here too, holds the national collection of spider and unusual forms, another couple of good ones I buy from are listed below, sorry I'm leading you astray

These would grow ok indoors if it was cool. Most orchids are ok outdoors in the summer, and for some such as Cymbidium it is essential if you want them to bloom!

 

since writting that, i checked on T&M's website and found that they can go as low as -6 amazing for such a small orchid, i read a review on them at the same site and someone said that you should grow them in orchid compost and it should be reflected to say this on the website, looks like they took notice of it.

Simbad, i can be lead astray quite easy when it comes to beautiful flowers, ask my mrs shes moaning about me taking up window cills and the laundry and every bit of space, i definatly need to invest in a greenhouse if not to get out the way for a few hours with my lovely flowers

 

-6°c if they are dry maybe. Use a mix of fine orchid compost or ordinary compost, sphag moss and perlite.
The common orchid compost is too coarse to allow the roots to bite.

I have a very similar Paphiopedilum noid in bud at the moment. No idea as to the id of yours though - there must be thousands of Paph species and hybrids!

 

longk you've been in pain for yonks . Have you been to the Quacks ?

It's this sodding cold 'n wet Jenny! Plays merry hell with my arthritis (from all the bits I broke over the years).
