I have just recently been given these two plants as a leaving present from work, but have not got much of a clue as to how best to look after them - my track record with plants is not great, despite trying to read up, website surf etc. Any suggestions on what to do for them to ensure they survive would be much appreciated - I have had them for 5 days so far! ;)

There are quite a lot of different orchids - and how yo treat them all varies a bit. Do you know which kind you have? I expect it's a phalaenopsis, as they're the most striking looking ones available in garden centres! But I was given a dendrobium at Christmas - (hence my name!) - so can you post what it is? Likewise, I haven't come across the other plant - is it pepper? I couldn't find anything on it on googling.
