End of July, I start another vacation, so excited about it.
First I fly to Malibu, Calif. for a wedding on July 28. This wedding is for my nephew and a young lady I have not meet.
Husband flying out earlier as his brother has time off then. He will stay with his brother & brother's wife in Huntington Beach till I arrive.
The wedding /reception is at a Fleur de Lis Estate. We are staying at Homewood suites near the wedding site, and a limo will take us up and back. It seems that this wedding will be a spectacular show as the brides parents are mulit millionares. So I found a wonderful outfit in Keywest to wear. On Monday, I drive to Whittier, CA to see an elder cousin of mine for a couple days, she is 85 years old, and the only niece of my father. And will stay with her that duration.
Then fly up to Eugene, Oregon, drive to the coastline and stay in Newport, Oregon at Sylvia Beach Hotel, a wonderful Bed and Breakfast (been before--very unique) (please google it) then up to Astoria, Oregon, staying at Clementine B & B, (again google). Love the Oregon coastline, so beautiful. I am also gathering lists of great resturants along the way and other sites to see along the coastline. Then leaving the coastline and traveling to Seattle WA, to stay with cousins for a few days, then flying home on August 10. I did this trip about 20 years ago, loved it.(Sylvia is a must stay at B&B)
I will be spending my birthday in Washington, State with these cousins (my mothers side)
Have my trusty travel book with me. May go over to Portland , OR while there or Salem. Debating, but want to also just relax by the ocean.
As I travel I will try to take pic with camera, but you can follow me with some pics on facebook using my blackberry.

I have driven the Oregon coast a few times Redstar & you will be missing some beautiful places.. If you are landing in Eugene are you starting at Florence.? That is such a sweet place I always thought.
Loved Depoe Bay, Linciln City, Tillamook, Rockaway Beach and Canon Beach.. Don't forget to take a kite too fly as well.. My Aunt lived on Fox Island Puget Sound all her married life & we went to stay quite allot until her death in 2001.. Such a beautiful place.. The sunset on Mount Rainier from her sun dining room was amazing.. The whole of the snow capped top of it was glowing red.... FANTASTIC..!! :yahoo: Have a great time..!!
I am trying to find one of my old pics...

Planning on it. Hope to find some good gardens as the zone is warmer than mine.
The last time I visited my cousins in Seatle, Washington, I was able to go up and visit Heronswood Gardens, truly a haven of the best varieties of hydranga. Their zone is warmer than ours, so several shrubs we could not order for delivery due to that, but we did select some wonderful ones.

When I land in Eugene, I go a straight line, as the road lets me, to the coast.
Staying in Newport, for three days, I can have time to travel southern also. And as I leave Newport to travel the coast to Astoria I will see all those towns you mentioned Marley. I have also traveled on Puget Sound many years ago. Yes it is a beautiful place and have toyed with the idea of just moving there. Love the weather also, not too hot and not to cold. Mount Rainier can be seen from my cousin's house.

Back in '95 I took a trip from San Fancisco to Vancouver, obviously it went via the Oregon coastline in part.
I remember Newport, an overnight stop, remember a large foggy sandy beach, with the largest driftwood I've ever seen.
Also remember having some great fish and chips washed down with locally brewed beer.
Its a nice part of the world.

Yep, planning on a lot of fish dinners. Also oysters, they are so big there.
