Thought I would start a thread to show our progress of our new allotment which we took on in November.

    Here's what we started with...

And here is how it is looking today...

It has been a lot of work, but so good for us physically, mentally and spiritually.

It is a lovely place to be, hearing the birds singing and feeling the warmth of the sun.

We are excited for the year ahead, to see how it all goes and what grows well. Feeling very grateful!

An amazing transformation in such a short time, well done !

Are you sure you didn't have the TV Garden Rescue team come in to help ? :)

Love the little tub pond, just like ours, we planted a little ivy which quickly grew to cover the rim of the tub and also give shelter to the smaller wildlife.

          Thank you both :)

Haha, no we did it all ourselves. Our plot is at the top of a very steep slope too so it's been a great workout pushing the wheelbarrow up there so many times!
That's a great idea about the ivy, I think I'll borrow that idea for ours too @ricky101

Well done, I had ideas about changing my plot from open ground to raised beds this winter, but mostly it's been far too wet so I haven't done it. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. It will be interesting to see how you get on.

@ClaudiaMM, the best way to start is clear one area first and start that way. As the weather warms up get something in and growing, then you can move to the next bit. The National Allotment society (NASLG) have leaflets and materials on line about how to get started.

Good to see the vegetable beds in use now. And we see this cat at the allotment most days, he is enjoying sunbathing on our plot :)

So much colour at the plot now, and everything growing so fast. We even have blue tits nesting in the bird box that we put up.
