Lovely cat, but I would also be terrified to let him out without the safety netting up. I wouldn't let myself out without the net either, the mere thought makes me queasy. Rosa, you and I are 100% of one mind here.

think she needs to get that cat in until its safe and secure, I,m totally shocked, I,m on a thirds floor flat and all mine is secure for my rosa a mouse couldnt get through my security.
That cat will end up falling off to a teribble death and sorry newbiegrower you are being a bit irresponsible letting that cat sit on that ledge. Please just please dont do this as that cat is coming to loose its footing and fall. :(

I know cats are pretty sure-footed normally but I wouldn't like any of mine sitting there so high up. My Cal fell off the railing on my deck which is only a metre high!

Newbiegrower, I've been thinking about it since I posted and the cat only has to try to catch a bird, butterfly or whatever and then that's that!

I don't want to tell you what to do, but I see that rosa has written again and that LoL has now too, am sure more folk will be along soon, but it would be better if you would keep Oscar inside until you get the safetly netting up.

Take care, all of you, and have a good day. xx

Me too! Just don't scare the kitty, whatever you do

Lovely cat though and I think all cats have a "daftness" streak in them :D

I can't bare to look at it after just looking the once.I get the shakes just going up a small step stall without being up on the 13th floor

I could never be a Steeple Jack and Fred Dibna used to make me quake just watching him go up a church tower on a ladder with no safety equipment just to put a weather vane on the top.I think I need to lie down

My late mother in law used to live on the 12th floor and one day looked out to see a young boy hanging upside down outside by his feet only from the balcony!!! She nearly fainted!

Having been off the scene for a long time I have just been having fits at the thought of your lovely puss at risk on that balcony and am so relieved you made it safe. I remember a very well meaning lady who gave a cat a home for the first time when she was about 50 (The lady - not the cat!) and thought all cats could deal with any heights. She left two adjacent bedroom windows open and the cat missed its footing trying to jump from one to the other and met a sad death only 14 feet up!

Things can happen when you least expect it. Years ago I was on a nature ramble with the local wildlife trust and we were looking into an abandoned quarry from over a wall that was over 4 feet high but the quarry floor was hundreds of feet below. The leader's family labrador jumped straight over the wall. Fortunately someone was quick witted enough to grab it and it was left hanging by its back legs over the sheer drop. We all had to heave on it to drag this big, heavy dog back over the wall. The dog was completely unfazed but we were all shaking.
