It's hard to get a photo of Bella - she moves too fast! But here's one with most of her body still enough - in her favourite place, Muiravonside....

and one where she's completely still, as I'm in the pic with her for once!

and M-in-law's dog, who lives in the dungeon... looking a lot more cute than usual....

Lots of little girls love Daisy, and she loves to rush around fter them, although she's 13. Bella's 9, but has the energy of a much younger dog! While we're out walking, I only see her thundering past, rushing up steep hillsides, or into the river, looking VERY happy, and extremely wet....

Lovely pics, Dendro. Your Bella looks like she likes a paddle about and Daisy looks like a toy and very sweet!

T'other half said earlier there may be frost in Scotland tonight ... will Bella be ice skating tomorrow? :D :D :

Sorry, folks - no frost! :D Just glorious sunshine, so I'm off to work in a minute!

Bella loves the snow - she had a great time that day it snowed and lay thick everywhere, remember way back?? She tosses it in the air, leaps around like an idiot, rolls in it, eats it..... and generally has a fantastic time. Wish I could get that enthusiastic!

    Codie is gorgeous!!

Bella doesn't much care about other dogs, so don't know if she'd like the dog-team  She doesn't fight, just ignores most, although the odd one takes her fancy..... She and Daisy get on fine, and make up their own rushing around games.

Not all our dogs are beautiful, but some are much loved in spite [or because?] of their looks. here is a picture of the sadly now deceased 3 times winner of the Ugliest Dog contest!

He was a rescued Chinese crested dog and was old and blind but much loved. Don't for a minute think he was exploited, here is a picture of him with Susie his owner:

Here's her blog to explain further.
    http://samugliestdog.typepad.com/blog/
And here's the Ugliest dog site:
    http://www.sonoma-marinfair.org/uglydogcontest.shtml
This is a comical excerpt from an interview with his owner Susan Lockwood:
SAM had an extraordinarily cranky side, even to me, if I touched his leg. His leg was OFF LIMITS!! That is where his imaginary friend lived. Whenever you gave SAM a treat, he would keep checking his back leg (which kept getting closer and closer to the treat) and then he would attack! He would spin in circles like a whirling dervish making sure that the "friend" in his leg would NOT get his treat! All you had to do to get a photo of SAM, like the famous ones, was to barely touch his leg.

SAM was also the biggest drama queen, or king actually! One time he came running into the house SCREAMING and dragging his back leg. I was sure he had gotten out and been struck by a car. Horrified, I dropped what I was doing and chased after him as he ran through the house dragging his leg and screaming. Well, when I caught up to him, I found he had sat on a post-it note, and it had stuck to his rump. Once I removed the evil thing that was chasing him, he settled right down. I laughed SO hard!

Sounds fascinating, Liz! You'd certainly spend a lot of time talking to people when you were out for walks with a dog like that, though, as we had to when our little Jack Russell lost a lot of her hair when she developed an allergy to Hemel Hempstead (a bit unfortunate since we'd just moved there!!)

Rosa - you've found out my guilty secret  ;)

Hi Dendro, Bella looks such a happy dog, I wish everyone who had dogs had such a good relationship with them and treated them as well as you obviously do, they give so much back, give her a hug from me [IMG]

She'll enjoy that! She loves to lean, even in the van on the way back from her walk, which makes changing gear a bit interesting....

I'm intending to get another dog to be a companion for her while she's still very active - I think it'll be good for her, and company for when I'm working where she can't mooch around with me. And of course, she's not getting any younger.

She came from the Chilterns place, out by Chesham - maybe you know it, Sue. http://www.cdrs.btinternet.co.uk/mainpge.htm

Hi, Dendro, I thought you were talking about the place by Christmas Common, Stokenchurch, near High Wycombe for a moment.

Our super good friends live in Chesham ... strange world, huh?

Our two newbies are doing okay here now with Magic Sam. He's "marshalling" them around and watching out when they go in the garden. Tonight, t'other half went out and Magic Sam was staring up into the smaller Jacaranda tree, quite fixated, and t'other half looked up and Candi was up at deck level not knowing what to do, frightened as sh*t and t'other half had to get a ladder to get up to get her down, her being only eight week old ... daft critter. She's going to be the problem not Cal ... he's a cuddly little boy, the runt! [IMG] [IMG]
