    ... runs a canal.

    I spied .... a mallard with her ducklings ...

Within seconds, she was joined by .... a goose ....
    DSCF6862 (436x640).jpg

And, seconds later, they were joined by .... a swan!

    DSCF6865 (640x570).jpg

Who said to the group: "Come on in, the waters lovely!" ... and they followed ...
    DSCF6867 (592x640).jpg

paddling and playing together in harmony ...

    DSCF6868 (640x360).jpg

And they all lived, happily, ever after!

Those were taken in a total of one minute: one minute of pure wonderment and joy at nature.

@"M" Way back before I was born my Grampy was given a license by the HO to cull the swans on a local lake. They were aggressive towards a rare breed of duck that nested on this private lake and would not be moved on. He wasn't allowed to keep even one bird for the pot though.

Jokes aside "M", it's great to see our feathered friends starting another spring with youngsters around them. :dbgrtmb:

Who was joking? :dunno:  :heehee:

No, you are quite right Sheal and the whole reason those photo's were taken was because I had never seen all three types muddling along together so nicely. The goose was very protective of the mallard and the ducklings. That first shot of the goose was as he came towards them to hiss at us! :heehee: Then the swan came into view and it really did look like the swan and the goose were protecting those little ducklings and enticing them away so they couldn't be "shot" any more ;) I thought it was wonderful

It is uplifting to see the different species co-existing in harmony. If only more humans could be more like this!
