My Oxalis triangularis has gone like this :-

Is it dead or dormant, and what should I do with it now ?

I have a different oxalis - pocockiae. Nice scent. It completely collapsed and then seems to come back from the seeds. Worth checking if yours might come like that - it looks like little brown seeds in your pot

I think they die back to the corm/s when you can divide them.

Here is mine this week with a bloom but most of the leaves died back.

They die back if left outside overwinter. Mine look the same as yours Michael. They will sprout again from the bulbs in the late spring.

Actually thinking about it I lost my triangularis last winter leaving them in the ground outside. Might be safer to move the pot somewhere frost free. I have a lot of Oxalis Iron Cross which are a bit hardier and stay outside all winter.

Thanks for everyone's help with this. It has been in a pot inside a shelter so I think I'll leave it there until the spring.

I have Iron Cross too @JWK and it survives the winter in the ground.

I grew Oxalis as a houseplant as a teenager, and indeed it died down for winter rest and regenerated in spring.

It was a most popular "friendship plant" and the dry corms were given to best friends only. :)

Wild Oxalis (Acetocella) is called "Fox bread" in Finnish and is a popular snack when roaming around forests. Goes very nicely with "Salty Fish", aka Sorrel (Rumex acetosa). The acidity must be balanced with something milky though, ice cream does the job quite well. :)

I have three huge ones picture shows one of them, other three of equal size. IMG_5794.JPG Have thinned them and put a few in ground, only a few come up, they are zone 7 I live in zone 6. Did take some down to our Southern home put them in ground, down there its zone 8, so they are coming up says the landscaper. You can see on the ground below the planter some that come up on their own.

I haven't grown this particular Oxalis but I do have some Oxalis deppei 'Iron Cross' growing on the balcony. Well, hibernating now! Though the flowers are pretty I grow them more for their leaves which I very much like. The problem with the flowers is that they have very long thin stems & are always flopping over the balcony floor & if I don't watch were I put my feet I trample all over them. This year I put the pot up against the railings & had no problems with the flowers.

Somebody, I can't remember who, (& likely on another gardening forum), promised to send me some corms but we must have both forgotten because I never received any.

It is in sleep / dormant mode. Perfectly natural. Just tidy up the loose ends ie. Clean it up a bit then
Pop it in a polybag and keep it dry but in the dark until next year . Then tip out the contents and find all her little pink shrimps ( rhizomes ) and pot about 5 in a 3 inch pot.water and enjoy a new season of lovely Oxalis ,

Thank you all for your help.
I have put it out in the rain but think I'll have to get it in now, so that it can dry off.
