I have Oystershell Scale insects on my Cornus Kousa. I have been spraying with water and washing up liquid and s****ing the branches with my nails or a toothbrush. So far so good. Does anyone else have any ideas of controlling these without pesticides?

Hi johnny, if you don`t want to use pesticides the only way to remove them is by s****ing them off, if you change your mind about pesticides make sure you use one that is systemic. David.

Thanks for that. I seem to be having success with getting them off but worry they are the reason why the plant is showing no signs of life as yet.

The scale insects shouldn`t be a cause for the plant not starting into growth yat. Give it another couple of weeks and let me know what happens. David.

Still just a stick of a 3 foot shrub, but always green when I look under the bark.
