paeonia rockii

Hi all

I have grown this from a 6 inch plant had it 10 years and taking in to acount the hard winter, I have 3 buds on and quite large so I will keep my fingers crossed that they open, the plant is about 24 inches high and 6 strong stem from the ground , I cut down hard 3 years ago to encourage bottom growth each cut at the time i was thinking should I or shoudnt I , sorry to go on but I have waited sooo long I have only ever saw this flower In Wisley Surrey.

I did have one on it last year but a bird pooped on it I think a seagull and it fell off two days later it was the only plant in the whole garden that it fell on
