My lovely elderly neighbour has just given me a well rooted piece of houseplant which she thinks the common name is Painters Pallette or Artists Pallette.I have seen it in flower it looks like a Peace Lily but is bright red,and stunning. She is a little vague on how to care for it,so any tips would be welcome. She keeps hers in a conservatory.
    Thanks

I would go with Palustris - Anthurium fits the limited description. [IMG]

You have one of two varieties, Andraeanum or Scherzireanum available as house plants. There are many cultivars of these plants now in many colours. They differ in leaf and flower shape, Andaeanum is the taller plant with long heart shaped leaves and flowers with the spadix (pointed bit) being straight, the other more common and easier to keep, Scherzerianum, has smaller pointed leaves and the spadix is normally curled (the old name used to be piggy tails).
