I know most folk have known about this for a long time, but I really like this idea. I was going to try it last summer but somebody nicked my pallet, lol (no plants in it) Great idea if you have limited space and I really don't think you need all this very expensive vertical gardening equipment when you can do this for pennies.

I really like this concept, I toyed with the idea of making a fence to divide the veg/chickens off from the rest of the garden, but regretfully decided against it. I think it's a great idea for smaller spaces as you say.

That is a cool idea  I have pallets stored for the wood burner - what would you line the pallet with to prevent the soil from falling out?

I've often wondered about this, but have never had the guts to try it myself. Would love to see your progress:-)

I would never grow edibles in a pallet, I have seen first hand the things that get spilt on them.

I can't imagine it would be much worse than the rotting food in your compost, or did you forget the fact that a third of soil is made up of decomposed animals and plants?
Not to mention the odd animal faeces and urine that will make it onto your plot.
