Very impressive, if someone can prove to me that the Nikon p500 is no better (apart from it's longer zoom) my allegiance will stay with Panasonic.
Now let's have some zoom tests Woo. :)

Hi Strongy I,m not here to prove which is the better camera and I would,nt dare to presume that I would know anyway, I made an informed choice after handling the two camera,s and I found I was more comfortable with the FZ45(horses for courses) I will try the 24x 35mm=600mm tomorrow when my back is a little better.:)

All these Images were taken at the full 24 x zoom/Hand held and have,nt been enhanced in anyway. For a Bridge camera I am very satisfied with the results, and convinced that I personally made the right choice for me.This might help someone else in their future camera decision, one way or the other.

I am sooo glad you are happy in your choice woo.
And. I have to say Panasonic seems to have doen a cracking good job of extending that zoom from my 18x to 24x... how do they do it.

Great shots wiseoldowl. :dbgrtmb: Looks like you're having as much fun as I am with the new camera.:)

These are the first shots using the zoom on my new FZ45, as they came out of the camera.

The view from my balcony: ( the arrow shows where the trees are on the full optical zoom.)

      ....and at full optical zoom:

Very impressive:dbgrtmb:, I would like to see some pics of something moving/in flight to see how good the shutter response is.

Mandy, I presume by full zoom you meant x24, just out of interest could you take another of the same view with the 'extra zoom' (not digital) turned on which is supposed to be x50 but only at 3mp.
