Very good Aaron, warm and mostly sunny, around 26c daytime and warm enough to swim in the sea.
One really windy day, the only downer was the 8 hour delay at the Airport on the way back!!
We will definitely go back but will avoid the 40c+ heat of July/August and the summer crowds when we went to Norhern Cyprus a few years ago, May/June or September/ October would be ideal.

Vicky, the cats are adorable :luv: but some guests didn't like them around and some kicked them out of the way!:mad::mad:

One has to 'broaden ones horizons' Ziggy.:D

Did some snorkelling:gnthb: but no fishing. Bird watching was rubbish as all migrants had gone through.

Smashing stuff Strongy, hope the snorkelling was better than ours at west bay this year, couldn't see more than 6" in front.

Field Fares are in Hambridge early this year.

We have lots of beach cats and restaurant cats here that are looked after by the respective premises ... two of the beach cats had babies this year and are now venturing into the public view. We go there (every couple of weeks) and last week the beach bar/restaurant owner said ... 'Victoria you can pick the babies up now if you want to, they will let you'. At the restaurant by the river we go to there is one tabby baby there who is a cheeky little girl and jumps up on your bench next to you. At all these places the owners come and shoo them away from visitors unless the visitors say 'that's okay'. Even though these places close for several months in the winter, the cats are fed on a regular basis :yez: and some have names. k-l

These type cats go away if you tell them to ... they do not need to be kicked out of the way ... these people probably kick their own pets if they have them ... or even partners ... ... if they have them even ... :skp:

It's nice to know some cats are looked after as you know first hand how thoughtless and just plain evil people can be. They are doing a job keeping the rodents down but there should be some control on their numbers by neutering.
    Maltreatment is unforgiveable.

There is a charity here called Cats of the Algarve in Albufeira (English translation) as there are many (hundreds I understand) of wild cats in that area. Twice a year there is a neuteuring programme which involves many vets and veterinary students and they capture and neuteur/castrate the cats (and their ears are clipped for identification). You are also not allowed to feed these cats as they have 'feeding areas'. Sis has been to them and photographed them as you can imagine, strongy.

The vets work with the animal charities here and offer free services and/or reduced fee services for people who take in waifs and strays .. we were fortunate to get a discount with Rasputin.

The beach cats we know total about a dozen at most and are not neuteured but looked after ... and some are taken home by residents who fall in love with them. The same for the river cats, only about half a dozen and only one baby this year and we were asked if we wanted her ... yes, yes ... no, no .. such a beautiful darling. I've put pics up of her mother before, must get one of her.

    Bless them all ... k-l

Glad you enjoyed your first holiday in the Greek part of Cyprus, strongy, and want to go again, but not in that heat. Sorry to hear about the 8-hour delay flying back. Hope you got some reimbursement, at least a free meal while waiting.

Your pics brought back many lovely and happy memories of our two trips to this beautiful island, and we'd also go back for another visit. It must have been easy to get up in the mornings and look out of your hotel window at such a colourful and wonderful view of the hotel grounds.

Thanks for all the putties for Sis and me, k-l, bless their sweet little hearts. If I had seen those nasty people kicking them, I'd have given them a good piece of my mind, the rotten b......s.

    Thanks for sharing. :luv:
