My sister in Law sent me these images of a rare flower from Thailand.

Probably the most beautiful flower I have ever seen

Fantastic Pip,as soon as I saw it I thought it had an Impatiens look about it. The flower is similar in type to the invasive Balsam and also the Impatiens Congo Cockatoo variety a sometimes seen house plant with red and yellow flowers. This one is a beautiful colour. I wonder if it will ever be propagated for commercial production.:)

a very beautiful plant, 2 years ago i bought a couple of parrot plants on e-bay, discovered that they are part of the busy lizzie family. the plants i had were smaller flowers but they do look like parrots, and they were of course a great talking point.
