Can anyone please post me an image of a young parsnip seedling? I have sown some but the image of a young seedling is not on the pack of the seed packet (v. useful usually). I cannot make out which the parsnip seedlings are among the weeds as they are all about the same size and I have never sown parsnips before! Cheers

These 2 seedlings are very simailar. The one on the right is a weed. The left is parsnip and is a slightly different green.

Do you find that weeds seem to grow next to veg and take on a quite similar appearance as the veg? Or is this just by chance something I have noticed here and there?

Yes,they are crafty.I find colts foot growing among the spuds alot and they are very similar.
I also seem to be always pulling nettles from between onions.Anyone else get this?

Mmm, good point - I either have something that that isn't a beetroot seedling but looks very like one, growing in and amongst the beetroot seedlings, or I am rubbish at sowing in a straight line! Time will tell I guess :D

Good I'm glad it's not just me! Fascinating, think I'll keep my eyes on those little weeds this year and make a few notes. [IMG]
