Parsnip

    I keep hearing about lifting parsnips in the winter, then putting them back in the ground root up. Why?:cnfs:

    Given I can't stand the taste - I'd do it to get rid of them :lollol:

    However - I believe it's one way of storing them for later - you need to do it properly however - and I've not got that far.

    What do others say?

    I so love parnips in soup anything roasted and you can even make parsnip crips.

    I have bought parsnip seeds to sow next year.

    Does anyone else have parsnip rescipe

    To be honest I`ve never heard of that. It would be nice to know why anyone should want to do it. Why not just dig them up when you want to use them?:cnfs:

    Yes Dai, I have to agree with you on that. Seems a strange thing to do. BTW, I LOVE parsnips and have already dug up a couple of whoppers ! They do however require frosting, so I'll have to wait a bit longer. Cheers...freddy.

    Freddy, Gladiator can be lifted in August, if yu want them frosted, just shove them in the freezer for a couple of days.:thumb:

    I leave my parsnips all through the winter and I love the taste iof parsnips specially roasted.:)
