My "Victoria" has at last started to flower.

The pollen needs to be moved to the sticky ends of those three alien-like probes sticking out in order to pollenate the flower, the pollen is on those five hinged pads below them.
Not sure if all types are self fertile, and if maybe another plant maybe needed to get seed, however if a different spiecies is used then the seed will be a hybrid, and not necessarily like the parent.
I think I know what I mean, but I'm not good at putting it into words. :D

Another gorgeous one, Pete, and this explanation is a little bit clearer than for the pink one! :D

We don't have the variety available here that you do so it's nice seeing these really exotic ones. Now that garden centres are springing up left, right and centre, perhaps we'll have a better selection in time.

So pleased with my passiflora I grew from seeds I bought whilst in K/Hoff gardens Spring of 2003.

There are 10 more buds ready to burst into bloom she just opened just before lunchtime today.

Last yr she just had two blooms.

This is "Bellotti", I dont have it anymore, it was during a spell when I was going through a Passiflora stage.
I believe its a hybrid between caerulea and alata, has a nice scent and fairly large flowers, not hardy though.

I bought both as plants, seed is possible for alata but bellotti being a hybrid its not really possible.
