I tried clematis in rooting powder, it didn't work.. it was a woody bit I nicked from the garden of an empty house! :D
My passion flower that I thought dead, is on the rampage now, and there's also a shoot coming up about 8" away from the mother plant in the bed, so it should be easy to propogate [IMG] Sorry, that's all you'll get off me! :D

    [IMG] Hi HB,
I took Clematis montana cuttings 2yrs ago now, not sure exactly when but am sure it was around now... I cut 1/2" either side of a really nice healthy bud-let on last years wood. Dipped them in rooting liquid. Put them 3 to a pot of moist compost with a light sprinkling of compost on top. Watered them lightly & sealed them up in a poly bag with a chop stick to stop it collapsing.. Put them in a bright shady part of the greenhouse & forgot about them for a couple of months... I only had 2 that didn't take. Try not to open the bag until they are rooted. There should be just enough moisture in there.. Hope this is clear enough & helps you HB. I have only grown Passifloras from seed, so don't know if this is how you would do it for them as well.... :D Good luck & have fun...

I have only grown P. Edulis, the glasshouse variety which roots easily from heeled side shoots with heat [IMG] but only grown the hardy ones from seed, so I'm not much help :(

I've grown quite a few passion flowers from seed and cuttings, its like taking all semi ripe cuttings, you need a bit of growth thats just getting woody cut below a node and above a node two leaves up, put in a warm shady spot and spray now and then.
I find clematis harder, thats taken as an internodal of semi ripe wood, as MF says a plastic bag over the cuttings helps.
I've only ever tried my Nellie Moser, I think the more rampant types may be easier, if you only want one or two I'd try layering.
