Hi, I'm new to this gardening stuff but really enjoying it. I have a question about Passion flowers. I love them and bought some seed but have had conflicting advice on how easy they are to grow. A random acquaintance said they would sprout anywhere with no special treatment, while advice on the internet suggests you need to soak in juice (the seeds that is, not the grower!) and that germination can take up to 52 weeks. I'm not very green fingered, is it worth persevering?

    Thank you

I think the word for the germination of passion flower seed is erratic, some seeds come up quick others take a time.
I find that fresh seed taken from a fruit germinates faster than the really dry stuff you can buy.
I'd put all the seed in warm water and leave to soak for a day and then sow at a temperature of at least 25C up to 30C.
You should get some to grow in a reasonable amount of time, presuming you only want a couple of plants or so.
