Recently moved into a new home, and the garden needed some work. The previous occupants had 2 big dogs, and they also had a bonfire every year slap bang in the middle of the lawn. I got a local gardener to come out and dig out the bonfire patch, and he applied some new turf. Parts where the dogs used to dig the dirt out have been filled level with top soil and grass seed.

The part where the dogs have been is going fine, however where the bonfire was, the Turf wont blend in with the rest of the lawn, and I have a big square bit that sticks out like a soar thumb. Is there anyway I can somehow blend the new turf in with the old grass?? the new turf has been down for 6 months and is showing no improvement, I basically wish to make it look so its not been patched, the lines of the square ar every prominant.

hi no expert here but maybe your new turf has been very well fed try feeding the rest of your lawn with a lawn food to make to greener pics would help alittle but without seeing hard to say really ,
don't feed the new turf though it will blend but may take a little time the only other thing i can think of is that its a completely differant type of grass thats been layed to the rest it should blend with time though ,
i have a patch on my lawn after winter gets water logged and has to be seeded every spring as the grass just dies and it always goes a darker green than the rest of the lawn but just before it gets water logged and dies again ends up matching the rest of the lawn

anyway hope that helps a bit

probally caused by different grass species in turf or seed mix,,personally i would not worry about it ,it will blend in over time
