Well,18 months ago when I bought this near derelict place, the last thing on my mind was gardening. One reason I bought it was the big front garden that gave me parking for my business vehicles....so I had many tons of hardcore delivered and pounded into place.

As happens,a year later my business is sold and I now have all this not needed hardstanding.
I guess I'll have to go for a gravel garden now...or shift all that hardcore...:gaagh:

Anyway I made a start and got the side in front of the house on it's way.Being on a school route
the little darlings have the habit of chucking twix wrappers over the wall so I decided to keep it simple
and easily litter picked.(More gravel needed yet)
I made an island from logs and made some planters out of old decking with bread tray inserts...Not so
attractive to pinch as pots and hanging baskets.
They should look well when all the trailing plants develop.I shall probably do similar
on the other side given time.

The large rear garden is coming along...with my aviary in place and the area near the house sorted.Lots to do down the bottom yet where I'm planning a pool, bog garden, and a greenhouse.I've bought half of next doors land so it gives me an L shape and plenty of choices.

I'm retired now,but the days are still not long enough...:D
