Received this and I think it is a Scam

    You reckon?
No intention of replying to it and they can close the Account altogether for us, we never use it.

    Hi Palustris
just for peace of mind you could go into your Paypal account and, if you have no intention of using the account again, remove the Bank Account/Card details.
This will stop any purchases being completed.
If you subsiquently need the account then just re-enter the relevent account.
Don't just ignore though - just in case.
DON'T CHECK BY USING THE LINK FROM THIS EMAIL THOUGH.

      Spam.

Ditto gcc's advice; but would add that you also *report* this to Paypal but NOT using the link in the email.

It's getting harder and harder to differentiate between genuine and non genuine email messages nowadays. It's a shame that you have to tread so warily around your inbox now,

Obviously a Scam as this name does not appear in our Email addresses in Paypal. Our Account/Bank details were already removed, but good advice any way.

I received something similar - scammers are getting cleverer at writing convincing emails. I couldn't find an easy way to contact Paypal, though, not sure if they really want a ton of emails so they make the contact address hard to find!

I had an email from 'PayPal' earlier today advising me I didn't have a bank account registered with them and to click on the link in the email to add one.

It may well have been genuine, but all the same it got deleted and ignored. Better safe than sorry, but not as bad as Mrs Scrungee who 'accidentally' set up her email at work to automatically delete any emails sent by her managers

It's good practice to never reply to emails received that give links within the email. Even if you think it's genuine you should always go into your account, whatever it may be, through your normal way of doing it.

The old saying 'Better safe than sorry' is still the best advice.
