Hi Everyone today my PC Has finally crashed so I am now using my laptop that was about in the Stone Age :) I have lost all my photos and all my email addresses and Nearly all my Patience but not my sense of humour :D I had thought that when the Error screens appeared I would take a photo of them so that I could show you what they said ,but now the laptop refuses to recognise the universal card reader and I cannot even load them on this Laptop :) Never mind in the grand scheme of things its not at the top of the list But It is very Frustrating :cool:anyway thanks for reading this Post ,
this laptop really is one of the two that Noah took on the Ark .:D

I just hope you backed up all your photos/personal bits onto a disc. My p.c crashed a few months ago and when i investigated all i needed was a new a Hard drive, Which cost me best part of £40.

    Good luck

 Woo it could be your power supply.. We had a problem exactly like that & it was the power supply.... Have you got a local PC place where they will come to the home..?? The first thing they will do is check that.... After that the mother board could be at fault.. Not worth fixing if it is the motherboard. If it is the M/B they can get all your info out for you. We did that once & had it all put on an external hard drive & thought it was about time we updated our PCs...;):D I hope this helps Woo & you are fixed & up & running again soon..!:)

Woo, sorry to hear of your problems. I'm not all that certain about computer problems but when my previous computer packed up I was fortunate that the hard drive was still OK. all I did was put the hard drive into the new computer and had all my data available. I now make sure I back up everything on to an external hard drive.

    Good luck. :)

Hi, wiseoldowl i don't know how competent you are with computers but you could always use a free Linux disc like ubuntu to help get back your photo's, it's a free operating system (thats like the windows xp thing i presume you have?) and it will let you view all the files on your pc so you can just copy them on two a thumb drive or even just email them to yourself (depending how many you have?) if you have a look here at the ubuntu forums (www.ubuntuforums.org) and ask in the Absolute Beginner Talk section they will be able to help you more

I have a Virus which has totally corrupted my Hard drive on the PC and cannot use my U.S.B. Ports as my laptop will not recognise the card reader,so cannot load any Photos and no email either. :(:)

Oh no (or words to that effect) woo, how did that happen. Can your 'medic' find out? Need to stop it happening again. At least you still have something available to you for getting on net etc. Let us all know what caused it too in case it happens to us. Just imagine if we couldn't talk to each other at all.

Don't know if you have any stuff backed up elsewhere but maybe you can rescue some pics etc from here & any other sites you may use.

    Chin up mate.

    cheers

 Oh Woo that is awful poor you..!! What is your next move now then..??? When you are set back up you will of course be able to copy all of your photos on GC back over to the new machine you know if you want.!;) Oh Woo, the more I think about it the more dreadful it seems..:(

;) I don't know how much anti virus you had but I use Mozilla Firefox for all my internet use. That is very secure. I also have AVG it's free & excellent. I go to this site for all my free anti virus & anti spyware Kim Komando...;) http://www.komando.com/downloads/category.aspx?id=2519

When you have your new machine get some free software from that site..;):) I do hope you are sorted soon.:thumb:

Hi Marley My son who works in IT Security has said that (Error 32 Corrupt and missing Files denotes a very corrupt hard drive,I am going to try and use a recovery disc and use safe mode if that doesent work we will put in a new hard drive between us,I only wish I could load my photos onto this Laptop but I will keep trying ,Its taken me three Days to sort out my Email problem but I have done that Now,Just the USB Ports and Driver Ie Card reader to sort out,I am afraid a new PC at the Moment is not an Option, unless Mrs Owl gets breakfast in bed for the Next year(every Day):D:)Thanks for your Support.
