i bought my mum a peace lillie a few years ago it has only flowered that year, although the plant itself has grown considerably. it has been repotted last year and given pleanty of water.
this year thought the lower leafs are going limp and dying

does anyone have any ideas as to why or what can be done to help this plant.

    thank you

K9, Spathiphyllums (Peace Lillies) are very easy to keep but watering may be the problem. As much as they like water they don't like standing in it as this can cause, particularly, the lower leaves to collapse and rot. Keep it well watered in summer but don't overdo it. Hope this helps.:)

I just think plants bred as house plants are good for a season.
It's unrealistic to expect them to be at their best for years.
You might be able to keep the plant alive, but it will never be that showy, in its prime , plant again.
I would just buy a new plant.
