A spin off from another thread so it doesn't get side tracked...
Anyone growing pelargoniums this year? The ones I bought last year seem to have croaked over wintering in the greenhouse which is annoying but they may yet throw up a shoot.
@fairygirl has suggested Lord Bute so I'll have a look at that one and try not to kill it.

The previous owner of my house grew pelargoniums in the greenhouse so this is my nod to her (Ruth) and her once fabulous garden

All mine died last winter too, and I had two trays of nice cuttings. I'm hoping to get some more but don't know what varieties. Maybe I'll sow a packet of seeds.

Marchioness of Bute looks stunning, not a bad price on the internet, but the shipping is a killer.

I have overwintered cuttings of mine on the windowsills, but I have unfortunately lost a few varieties. Lord Bute has a beautiful and unusual colour. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what varieties other people are growing.

The one in the photo is Rushmoor Rowan. It has flowered well into winter on my kitchen windowsill.

          Zonal or regal. Or both.
I used to grow regals years ago and I remember there was a series, Harewood slam, Lavender slam, and one other, really nice flowers but tended to be early summer flowering.
Not much by late summer though.

This is a mix of regals, they flowered all summer and autumn. Unfortunately I have lost the biggest plant in this photo, which was one of my own hybrids (named Ethelwyn, after a character from a story by George MacDonald).

I’m taking advantage of the wet windy weather to tidy up my overwintered pelargoniums. Some of them have started flowering, like this Viva Carolina.

I’ve been repotting pelargonium cuttings and some of them are in flower. I was planning to start putting them in the cold frame during the day, but I’ve reconsidered after seeing the forecast for next week.
