Pelleted lime

Has anyone used pelleted garden lime when making there own potting compost

never added lime when making my own compost


What is the compost going to be used for ie potting , seedlings etc

 

Probably potting mainly was going to make a JI type and using there recipe which requires lime , but agree I have previously not used lime experimental really

 

How do you know it needs lime without testing the mix first? surely it could be alkaline already depending on the source of the loam.

Why is the lime pelleted?

 

they sell pelleted lime .. new to me but meant to be easier to use

 

The idea of pellets of lime is that it travels further when spread mechanically, reducing the amount of transits upon tramlines. Thought to be just as soluable as fines. Less dust too !
