I've never fancied getting any :heehee: I think all the years of sitting through endless assemblies at school warning us about fireworks must have worked somewhere subconsciously :S Like to watch them though....cat's not a fan of the banging though.

fireworks should be banned for domestic use .... I just don't see the point ...

don't mind them when used for spectacular shows such as new years etc but should be controlled and used by people who know how to use them

we have some (adults) in our village who set them off all night and early mornings (up to 3am) ... every night for several days ... and they are more excited about them than their children

I'm not a 'party pooper', but this really annoys me as it takes a long time for me to fall asleep ....and I wake up easily, especially from firecrackers

Totally agree with *dim* I think fireworks should be limited to public displays only and not sold in shops for any brainless person to buy!!
There are fireworks being let off as I am typing this???? it isn't firework night is it?? :what: Sorry but I think that the extra loud bangers are the worst, I own 3 dogs and an elderly cat (who hides behind the sofa) and the bangers in particular really upset them!!

Remember sparklers that really had sparks (and burned holes in your gloves :rolleyespink:).

                    Penny bangers? Sparklers?....Girly stuff. :)
Anyone else here remember rook scarers? You could buy 'em a dozen at a time when I was a teenager, with a few days pocket money.
Oh what fun we had, blowing up tin cans, cow pats, piles of leaves and other assorted items.
All highly irresponsible and hazardous of course.
                    Those were the days! :D

Some people are scared of dogs though especially loud ones and we won't be banning dogs. Bonfire night is by far the best night of the year and it would not be the same if you could not buy a box of fireworks to get drunk with around fire.
I wonder what it would be like living next door to Val and her three dogs :heehee: :gaagh:
