    Anyone heard of this? I was given the name today but can't find any info.

    There is one called Argosy, which is the closest I can find.

    Other info was,it is very rare and took 5 years for the gardener to source , and approx only half a dozen places have this plant.

    What colour is it? Seems to be some rare yellow peonies mentioned on some websites but not that name.

    It is a tree Peony with yellow flowers..It must be rare because the plant was stolen within hours of being on display to the public!
    I'll check the name with the gardener.

    There is nothing similar in name in the list of Tree peony cultivars, but many of them are Japanese or Chinese names so maybe your has/had a name like that.

    Paladin, this is a tree peony with yellow flowers,the one that Palustris mentions. (Scanner not working so took a pic) You can see that it says - difficult to propagate so that's obviously why it's rare.

    RHS Plant finder says the nursery (link below) can supply this peony, but if it's not the one you are enquiring about perhaps they will have more information for you.
