    Hi all

I have grown my own peppers this year, so far I have had a few bell peppers from the crop. However since I harvested the first few there have been some changes in the plants themselves. The plants have started to turn black and the new peppers growing are changing shape. I have two different varities growing, some homebase own brand bell peppers which have been find but are now turning slightly black and feel more spongy than the green. The second type are Mr Fothergills sweet Romano mixed peppers. It's the bell peppers which are turning black and the Romano plant which has turned black and the fruit somewhat comedy shaped!

Any suggestions as to what may have caused this? Our weather has been quite warm recently but not a great deal of sun and some quite heavy down purs at times.

    I cant see anything wrong.
Sweet peppers sometimes take on a slightly black appearance before ripening.

The strange shape might be due to pollination, but its nothing to worry about.
