I recently bought my wife two peace lilies and they have turned from nice an White to green and droopy. I susect that this is due to us forgetting to water them as we are not yet in the habit of doing so, but, are there any other tricks that you guys know of for producing fine specimins? Or an in soil water storage device that releases the water slowly to aid our plants during times if forgetfulness?

Several of my work colleagues have peace lillies on their desks. We've found that they don't like to be too close to the window where they get a lot of sunlight. They also need moist (but not sodden) compost, and an occassional spray of water (as a fine mist) on their foliage, as the edges of the leaves dry out. Ours at work also get fed about once a month with baby bio. One lad nearly killed his because it outgrew its pot and didn't get watered enough. It went all droopy like you describe, but I confiscated it, brought it home, put it in a larger pot with about two parts compost to one part sand, and gave it a feed. I gave it to one of the ladies to look after, and now, about a year on, it is growing out of control.
